On July 15, 1410 near Grunwald took place one of the greatest battles between the Teutonic Knights (about 21,000) under the head of Ulrich von Jungingen and connected Polish, Lithuanian-Ruthenian and Czech troops (around 29,000) led by Władysław Jagiełło and Witold. The battle finished by the victory of Poles and their allies. A great master of the Order died in a large number of Teutonic Knights. The battle began the twilight of the Order's power. Every year a staging of the great battle takes place.
